Mark Whiting, BSc (Hons) Acu, LicAc, MAAC

I graduated from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading where I studied for three and a half years under some of the most qualified teachers in the country. The college combines the strengths of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture to form an integrated approach. It is a style of acupuncture that seeks to understand the nature of a patient's illness and, equally as important, the nature of the person experiencing the illness.
No two individuals are treated in exactly the same way, and I will work with you to ensure that the treatment I provide is right for you and achieves lasting results.
As well as using acupuncture, I am experienced in the use of moxibustion, cupping, tui na (Chinese massage) and electro-acupuncture and regularly attend professional development courses to expand my knowledge.
As a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians, I am bound by their strict codes of practice and hygiene, and am also covered by full professional indemnity insurance.
Several years ago I took part in a pilot project launched by Anxiety UK and the British Acupuncture Council which allowed members of Anxiety UK to access traditional acupuncture through this new partnership. Throughout the pilot project, data was collected to determine the effectiveness of traditional acupuncture for treating those living with anxiety and anxiety based depression. On the basis of the results of the pilot study, AUK have accepted acupuncture as one of their standard therapies to offer their members.
